Battery information

Since January 01st, 2020 the transport regulations for lithium batteries have been tightened. Manufacturers and distributors are now obliged to provide the UN 38.3 report along the supply chain.

This regulation applies to all batteries manufactured after June 30, 2003. This also includes batteries that z. B. are installed in used notebooks.

In order to be able to transport the affected batteries at all, they have to pass various tests. The results of the tests are recorded in the so-called UN 38.3 report.

The report documents:

  • Altitude simulation
  • Thermal test
  • Vibration
  • shock
  • External short circuit
  • Impact effect
  • Overload test
  • Forced discharge
