CSR, Resource conservation, data protection and GDPR must no longer be foreign words or lip service in today's world. But do companies include the use of old IT and their data in their sustainability strategy? A study by the blancco Technology Group says: No.. Companies do not pay sufficient attention to their old IT and the handling of electronic waste. Every fourth German company wastes more than 100.000 euros per year on storing or destroying hardware that is no longer needed but still functional.
INSI - added Value for all company sizes
Creating “more” by selling decommissioned corporate IT. The initiative believes in a sustainable, green and modern IT future in Germany and aims to change the public perception and view of used hardware in companies. By participating in the initiative, companies have a positive influence on their emissions balance, nip data protection problems in the bud, avoid a large amount of electronic waste, strengthen their sustainability goals and improve their CSR external communication. Interested parties can have their used IT recycled at fair market prices and receive all services from packaging, transport, data deletion and data media destruction free of charge. Just like the advice on Implementation in your CSR. Instead of disposal and storage costs, profits are generated, which in some cases even make it possible to refinance new devices.
Free services around the "old gold"
The initiative guarantees that all services of the recovery process will be carried out safely and, above all, free of charge. All hardware is packaged and transported across Germany. The additional data deletion or destruction of data carriers, as well as possible disposal of defective material, are included. After an examination, the immediate payment is made on the basis of a market valuation. The many free services are made possible by strong partners of the initiative. The concept receives support from politics, business and non-profit organizations. Computers, laptops, monitors, servers, printers and accessories as well as smartphones and tablets are part of the portfolio. Data carriers such as hard drives, CDs, tapes (tapes) are also recycled or destroyed using a certified media shredder. The written off hardware is processed in the technology center of the partner bb-net in Germany.
Safety has the highest priority
In many cases, obsolete corporate IT ends up in warehouses, along with all of the data. Improper storage of old data carriers creates high security problems and involuntary violations of data protection. Thanks to the cooperation of professional remarketing companies and the market leaders in the field of data deletion software, INSI guarantees a completely logged, manipulation-proof and BSI-compliant destruction of all data. The Blancco Technology Group, is the industry standard for data erasure and diagnosis of mobile devices. "The more environmentally friendly management of IT assets after their usage time and their return to the circular economy is a proven method for all companies. By securely erasing the data that they no longer need, companies can not only reduce their energy consumption, but also meet the requirements.“, Managing Director of Blancco Central Europe GmbH, Tanja Kühnl.
Participants supported Education aktiv
Disused does not mean unusable, so storing used IT is a waste of resources and potential. Passing on IT resources to the people who need them - regardless of the continent. Devices that are too old to be re-marketed but are functional, or have major visual defects, will be prepared and donated separately for Labdoo. "Used IT enables disadvantaged students at home and abroad to access IT and digital learning. For me, sustainability and education belong together. Projects like this initiative actively help to support the goals of the non-profit aid project Labdoo and to reduce the digital divide.“, Says Ralf Hamm, founder of Labdoo.org Germany. By participating in INSI, companies not only rid themselves of old devices, ensure that their data is handled responsibly, but also promote the urgently needed rethinking of our environment and the promotion of global education. Interested parties can find more information on the specially designed website: https://insi-initiative.de. Currently the number of participants is up 200 companies limited.
